Hanged Man Reprint

Good news announced on my birthday yesterday.

“The Hanged Man of Oz” is being reprinted in a new anthology edited by Ellen Datlow. The Cutting Room comes out next year from Tachyon Publications.

I love this story for a number of reasons. It’s the first I ever finished and sold, appearing in Gathering the Bones, edited by Dennis Etchison, Ramsey Campbell, and Jack Dann. It was reprinted in The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror, Vol. 15, by Stephen Jones. And now it’s seeing publication again in an Ellen Datlow anthology.

I’ve known about its inclusion for a while. The sale was the spark for the recent surge of creativity by the muse, and why I’ve knocked out two short stories in the last two months, started on a third, and taken a second look at the horror novel I slaved over the year before.

The table of contents includes lots of great stories, nearly all reprints, and I’m overwhelmed to see mine among them.
